History
Since it's creation in 1980 by David B Pierce, the business has evolved
from a radiator and heat exchanger repair business called Heat
Transfer Specialists Ltd into what is now a multi-national group of
companies with operations in both the United Kingdom and the United
States of America.
Businesses created, acquired and owned during the past 3 decades
include Heat Transfer Engineering, Helixcoil, Copycat Coils, The
Heatex Group, Computube, Britannia Heat Transfer etc., acquiring
along the way Crane Heatex and part of Covrad Heat Transfer.
More recently, Britannia Heat Transfer Ltd was acquired by Applied
Cooling Technology Ltd in 2003 resulting in the formation of it's
subsidiaries Britannia Heatex Ltd, Titan-Lite Motorsport Ltd and Elfin
Technology Ltd, and a USA based sister company, Applied Cooling
Technology LLC.
The shares of Applied Cooling Technology Ltd were acquired by
Sterling Thermal Technology Ltd in 2011, along with most of the
business’s operations such as the design and manufacure of heat
exchangers and exclusive supply of ElfinBlock products in th UK.
